Welcome to the School of Engineering!
Exchange students can choose from a wide range of courses and projects taught in English. You will find all the information you need, from applying and preparing for your stay in Reutlingen to returning home.
Information for exchange students
Exchange students can choose from a wide range of English-language courses and projects. They are generally entitled to participate in English-language courses in all engineering degree programmes if they meet the requirements for course participation. Please refer to the module description of the respective course for the necessary prerequisites and restrictions. If they have sufficient German language skills, exchange students can also participate in engineering courses taught in German.

PLEASE NOTE:
Not all courses are offered in English every semester. The list of courses is subject to change and is updated regularly!
There are only a limited number of project places available for exchange students, and these are only available if a professor agrees to supervise the project. Further information is available on request.

Application
Please apply for your semester in Reutlingen on our MoveOn portal. If you have been nominated by your home university for your exchange semester, you will receive the link by email.
Accommodation
It is extremely important that you start looking for accommodation in Reutlingen immediately after applying. One option is to apply for a room in a student hall of residence. Send your applications to the two housing associations GWG and Studierendenwerk Tübingen-Hohenheim.
Health insurance
Students in Germany are legally required to take out health insurance. To enrol at the university, you must provide proof that you have health insurance. IMPORTANT: Please read the information on health insurance and complete the necessary steps within the specified period.
Course selection
Select your courses from our course offerings. Send your course selection by email to TEC.incomings@reutlingen-university.de
Registration with the city
Anyone who moves into an apartment or a room in a hall of residence is legally obliged to register with the city (Bürgeramt) within 14 days. This legal formality is called "Wohnsitz anmelden".
To do this, you must make an appointment at the Bürgeramt. You can book the appointment online (usually at the Bürgeramt Reutlingen, Marktplatz 22):

Required documents:
- Passport
- Identity card (only for EU citizens)
- Completed municipal registration form (registration of the flat with the registration office)
- Confirmation from the landlord (landlord confirmation)
Course registration
- Activate your user account at Reutlingen University.
- To gain access to the courses and receive important notifications from your lecturers, register for all your courses on our Moodle platform RELAX an.
Note: If you need a registration key, please request it by email from your professor.
Please attend the courses you have selected. You can find the lecture times and rooms in the online timetable on WebUntis.
Exam registration
The dates for exam registration can be found in the semester dates. Current information on the registration procedure for exams will be sent by email.
Transcript of Records
Please download your transcript of records yourself.
Deregistering with the city
If you are leaving Germany at the end of the semester, you must deregister with the Reutlingen City Council.
Cancel your contracts
Please do not forget to close your bank account and cancel all contracts in good time before your departure.
